So we've eaten at 4 different sushi restaurants in our first 3 weeks in Seattle... I've left each place more disappointed than happy. I was beginning to lose hope of finding decent quality sushi. However, I never gave up hope and kept asking "locals" for any recommendations. Most recently, a Seattle transplant, who was originally from Japan, recommended Ichiro so we had to try it out.
We went with Uber Eats again, partially for convenience and partially because we don't have a car. Figured that the cost to Uber it there and back, and leaving a customary 20% tip in the restaurant, could be better spent on more nigiri :)
We ordered several items as follows:
California Roll: Didn't seem like anything special but my wife absolutely enjoyed it with no complaints.
Vegetable Sakisoba: Hands down delicious. Plenty of cabbage and other veges like how we wanted and plenty of flavor. My wife couldn't stop raving about it either... which was further evident by the way that she tried to hide the leftovers from me.
Rainbow Roll: I wasn't too pleased with this roll for several reasons. First, it was much smaller (skinnier and shorter) than most rainbow rolls I've had in the past. Second, I've only known rainbow rolls to use salmon, ahi (tuna), hamachi, and shrimp. This one did not have any hamachi which appeared to have been replaced by ika. I don't care for ika and certainly didn't enjoy the tougher texture than what I was expecting. Lastly, the avocado was no where near fresh as depicted in the picture. HOWEVER, I will stay that I still enjoyed the taste of the roll.
Ikura Nigiri: Very very good. The roe appeared and tasted well on the fresher side. Good size pieces and exceptionally delicious.
Saba Nigiri: Perfection! This was the highlight of the meal for me. These pieces of saba had the perfect amount of vinegar flavor, were still on the rawer side, and tasted amazing.
Overall, we loved Ichiro and it served to redeem our sushi experience in Seattle. I am not saying it's the best quality of sushi by any means but it is certainly worth the price. And the creativity and presentation of their rolls is amazing. I will definitely be back for more before we leave. -

This is our neighborhood go-to. The flavors are balanced, it's got great sushi for (what used to seem like just) a teriyaki joint. Even the sashimi is presented in surprisingly exciting ways at times...I mean, who knew?
The staff is friendly. One of the main ladies remembers my name even though we moved away long ago, but do visit. They have a bustling business so you can expect a line. Many families make it a staple of their Magnolia life, for sure. -

I ate the Chicken katsu, Udon and Dragon Roll. It was just AMAZING!! I can say that sushi and teriyaki here were the best in my life. The owner and the waiter(&waitress) were very kind, nice service. Highly recommend this place!!
